The Shape of Intention: Designing Our Gift Boxes

A Quiet Reflection from Our Studio

At WØRKS, every detail begins with a conversation—usually around the table at our studio in Melbourne. The design of our gift boxes was no exception. We wanted to create something that felt thoughtful and tactile—something that quietly reflected the care we pour into everything we make.

Designed to Be Kept

We never saw this box as just packaging. It’s made from premium materials and designed with reuse in mind—to hold letters, keepsakes, or small daily objects long after the original contents have been used and loved.

Each box is assembled by hand in our Melbourne studio. We fold, line, and seal every box with care—it’s a slow process, but a meaningful one. When you receive it, we hope it feels like something special. Because to us, it is.

Why the Circle?

We return often to the circle. You’ll see it across our packaging—not as decoration, but as a symbol of our values. A circle is whole, continuous, interconnected. It reflects our commitment to a circular economy and reminds us that every choice—every material, every process—carries weight.

On our gift boxes, we chose to express this with five interconnected circles. Each one represents an element of our packaging and is tied back to the products found within. Together, they create a quiet rhythm—a visual echo of each fragrance range, designed to feel balanced and intentional.

Colour as Fragrance, Fragrance as Story

Each of our six fragrance ranges has its own distinct palette. In translating scent into colour, we ask ourselves: how does this fragrance feel? What does it look like in the mind’s eye? From the crisp brightness of Bergamot to the grounding calm of Amber, each box becomes a visual expression of the scent inside.

These colours aren’t trend-led. They’re selected for how they sit together—subtly, confidently—and how they support the mood of the ritual.

A Small Gesture, A Lasting Impression

Gifting is personal. It’s not only about what’s given, but how it’s received. We designed these boxes to hold space—to elevate a moment, to bring stillness, to say “this was chosen with care.”

The five circles on each lid are more than a design—they’re our quiet way of inviting you into our world. A world where everything is connected: material to maker, ritual to place, product to person.

We hope you feel that connection when you open the box. It’s our way of saying: thank you for being part of this.
