This month WØRKS donated $5,000 of body care products to MCSW. The products have been distributed amongst the organisation’s residential facilities and emergency accommodation services, into the hands of women who, more than ever, need to feel cared for.
“It’s common in corporate philanthropy to donate a percentage of sales, but too often that’s used as a driver for promotion and profits. It’s important to us not to leverage a charity partnership by driving sales. Donating product allows us to connect directly with vulnerable women in our community and offer some modest but tangible comfort this Mother’s Day,” said WØRKS Founder Suze Raymond.
Community support with conscience
MCSW’s approach is centred on social connection, a sense of community and individual empowerment. The organisation provides a range of services including 24/7 crisis support, mental health care, legal advocacy, individual case management, up-skilling and education, transition into employment, and access to their McAuley House facilities in Footscray and Ballarat. These residential facilities offer Victoria’s first purpose-built accommodation for women who are homeless, many of whom have also experienced family violence. More than a place to seek shelter, McAuley House is a place for rest, recovery and reconnection.
Our alignment with MCSW aims to support the women living in their emergency, temporary and permanent accommodation facilities by providing moments of respite. By contributing body care products we aim to bring sense of comfort, kindness and care to the women who need it most.
“Thank you for your generosity. Your products look beautiful and we would love to share them with the women we work with on Mother’s Day,” said Amy Price, MCSW Donations and Engagement Officer. “I really believe that businesses like yours are very special. We’re lucky to have donors like you.”
